Sounds nice at first but made like crap...all form no function.July 29, 2010 Trigardhi Asderik I bought two pairs of these headphones a little over a year ago - one with a mic for my cell phone and one w/ out. I used these headphones for travel and when I go running. Not everyday use. Like other reviews, at first they are awesome because they sound great then it stops working.
I will start off by saying I'm a gadget lover hence I take care of all my material possessions. So, for these headphones to break these things are really crap. As you can tell, I'm pretty upset. These are NOT cheap headphones at least not when they first came out. The one with the mic was around $90 and the other was around $70. To make matters worse, now they are $20!!!
After a month or two, the sleeve that covers the input jack came loose. The glue they used was not strong enough. So I crazy glued it back on. No big deal. Then a few months later, I noticed the sound was uneven on the one w/ out the mic. I thought it was just me until I confirmed that the left ear was producing 50% less sound. So those are pretty much shot.
Now the one with the mic...that one completely stopped working. The only way I can get it to work is if I bend the wire and keep it in that position. This is the part of the headphone wire that intersects the input jack. Seems like they did not solidify the inside wiring of the actual headphones that connects to the input jack.
So all in all...two expensive headphones dead in a little over a year. There are plenty of other headphones that sound great that don't break!
Delicious SoundJuly 27, 2010 Vair Eks 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like reading reviews about electronics before I buy and read so many before purchasing these. And I gotta say, I really do Love my V-Modas :) Their design is very attractive and their sound is amazing. The clarity - the bass.. everything sounds CLEAN. I've heard bass from cars and other headphones that distort the music itself, but V-Moda does a really good job with delivering the sound without corrupting it. It feels like a top quality product - very well constructed.
Now I have it all!July 14, 2010 yahmom1209(san antonio, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was looking for a good pair of headphones with great sound that I could also use to listen to music. I almost didn't order these based on some of the reviews I read, but I'm sure glad I did! They sound great, are very comfortable, made well, and most important, people can actually hear me when I talk on the phone. Couldn't be happier!
Works with iPhone 4 (Gunmetal Rouge)July 13, 2010 Night Owl from Phoenix, AZ I purchased several of the Gunmetal Rouge Vibe Duo headsets for myself and family members, based on prior experience with V-Moda Vibes and Chrome Vibe Duo earbuds. I love the sound that the Vibes deliver, so when I saw them for sale at a fraction of the price I originally paid for, I jumped on it.
I like these Gunmetal Rouge versions of the Vibe Duo even better than the Chrome version that I have. The Chrome has a stiff plastic cable that doesn't stay in place in use, while the Gunmetal Rouge has a flexible (supposedly kevlar reinforced) fabric cord that does. The plug has also been revised to make it more durable, but I'm pretty careful with my headsets so the old style straight plug on my Chrome earbuds hasn't given me any issues yet after over a year of gym use.
Anyway, I had purchased the earbuds prior to reading the reviews complaining about incompatibility with the iPhone 4. When I finally got around to reading them, I panicked and was ready return my order before even opening the package. Fortunately for me, my fears were unfounded. The Gunmetal Rouge Vibe Duos work fine with iPhone 4 running iPhone iOS 4.0 (8A293). The controls work just like with the 3GS, one push to play/pause, two presses to go forward one track, three presses to go back, and holding the button activates voice calling. I did receive a complaint about minor mic noise from a friend that I called, but he didn't hear any difference between the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4, so I don't think it was related to the noise cancellation microphone on the iPhone 4. I am knocking one star off because of the noise, however.
I'm not sure why other reviewers had issues with their Vibe Duos and the iPhone 4, but I didn't have any issue with mine.
For the price it can't be beat.July 12, 2010 Iamalert For the price, it can't be beat. It's the best sounding earbud I have heard at this price. I thought it was such a good deal that I got two more pair a little later. It was not all that comfortable but that maybe because my ear cannel a bit small.
