Previous owner of a Griffin Car ChargerFebruary 21, 2010 Jacquelyn P.(New Jersey) As I said in the title I'm a previous owner of a Griffin Car Charger and it's true, the charger doesn't last forever. I had mine for about a year, which I think it's a long period of time considering how often I used this item (every day). Mine broke a few weeks ago and got a cheaper charger. What a waste of money!! The cheaper charger doesn't even charge my iphone 3G! So I will be definitely getting another Griffin one. I recommend you to do the same!!
Burned out after 3 monthsFebruary 18, 2010 J. Gregory Get something else. I used this only ocassionaly for 3 months with my iphone 3gs and it burned out. I tried replacing the fuse, but to no avail. The charger is dead. Save your money and get something else.
Works well for my purposeJanuary 4, 2010 wildman124(Louisiana) As many other reviewers have said, the cord is short but that is what I wanted. At first I didn't think that it would slide in with my Otterbox Defender in place, but with a little force and the exact angle it fits in and won't accidentally slip out. After a few uses it does slide in easier. It charges well and doesn't get hot. This charger is exactly what I was looking for, but I could see it being a problem for some people. I would buy the exact same thing again if something happened to mine.
Reviews were right -- serious reliability issuesJanuary 1, 2010 Edward Barnett(Cambridge, MA United States) Before purchasing this product from Amazon last August (about four months ago), I took a quick look at the average rating (which was fairly high) and the price (which was fairly low for an iPhone charger). What I didn't notice was the cluster of 1-star reviews from people who had experienced premature product failures.
I should have paid more attention to those reviews. This charger has been in my car for four months. During that time, I used it only five or six times (I charge my phone at home every night, so I rarely have to use the car charger). Today I needed the car charger, and it was dead. This is an inexcusable level of product reliability.
It BROKE after 3 monhts of useDecember 31, 2009 FilmBuff(New York City) After approximately 3 months of light usage, the car charger stopped working. Just died. Kaput. I'm very disappointed that Amazon LLC (the seller of this item) will only give me a "partial refund" IF I'll pay the shipping. Guess what? For a $13.00 item, I'm basically stuck.
Poor quality control. Don't buy this item!
