Good idea, Bad implementationJuly 23, 2010 J. Hannah(Orlando, FL) Judging by all the positive reviews on this site I took a chance and ordered these for use with my iPhone. I'm sorry I purchased them. The sound quality is not as good as the headphones that came with my iPhone. It only has one button that allows you to stop/start the music or answer a call. There are no other controls on the cord. I cannot fast forward or advance to the next song, what a waste.....
flaky then failJuly 21, 2010 DrJ(South Bend, IN, USA) Sennheiser used to be reputable; now I must agree with those who say these earbuds are junk. The shorter earbud worked intermittently at first (plugging and unplugging sometimes cleared the problem) and I like the asymmetric form so much that I kept hoping they would 'break in'. Instead, they just broke, with the shorter earbud not working at all. Too bad, back to the kludge-but-robust Sure adapter with old Sony earbuds.
Much better than the iphone ear buds for music, but not phone calls.July 9, 2010 Biology Prof(Los Angeles, CA) At this price point, these earphones are a great deal. They are pretty good at noise cancellation, and since they are in your ear the rest of the world won't be able to hear your music like what happens with over-the-ear headphones. They are lightweight and inconspicuous in your ears. They're also pretty comfortable, you can probably sleep with them in if you need to.
After 1 month of use, I've had no problems. HOWEVER, I am concerned that the wires that connect the earbuds will one day become frayed or shorted. They are very thin and don't have much plastic coating on them. If you're really meticulous with your headphones you may not have a problem. I'm not particularly gentle with my headsets, so I won't be surprised if I have to replace these in 6 months or so.
Main disadvantage: When placing phone calls you CANNOT hear your own voice with this headset. This is issue is not unique to this headset, but I've encountered it with at least 3 other pairs. In fact, the only ear buds I've found that let you hear your own voice through the headset while speaking on the phone are the standard issue apple ear buds. I know that at lest some of the Motorola bluetooth headsets also have this feature
Minor disadvantage: There is no volume control with this headset. The button on this set functions like the middle "button" on the standard iphone earbuds. In other words, you can use the button to pause music and answer the phone. But you cannot adjust volume or skip tracks.
Lasted one yearJuly 6, 2010 Charles Latner(Salt Lake City, UT USA) After 12 months the microphone stopped working completely, as well as the button on the microphone to pause the music or answer a call. About three months later, I was only getting sound out of one earbud unless I played around with the cord at the base and held it in a certain way. I believe it is related to the picture by dondo showing the cable fraying. It's completely unacceptable to make a cable like that. If you look at the earbuds that come with the iPhone you see much better protection against fraying in this spot, and it works! I have Apple earbuds that have lasted me 4+ years with no problem. I put my old iPhone earbuds back in my phone after the Sennheisers quit and everything is working great, so it's nothing wrong with the phone itself.

I have had larger headphones from Sennheiser before that I really liked. The sound quality on these were fine, but within two weeks of getting them (and they are not cheap) the left ear stopped working. So now I only get the right channel. Which is not the end of the world for talking on the phone, but makes listening to music virtually impossible. I am a bit rough on headphones, but the whole point of in-ear headphones is that you should be able to be rough on them.
