It only makes it worse...July 28, 2010 Bryan McCaffery Pros-
These are comfortable
Sound very good
Cons-
Mic is horrible
Falls apart
I searched high and low for a comfortable pair of headphones that I could use on my phone. I found these and thought bingo. It looked like they were going to fit all of my requirements at half the price I would have paid. I bought them and was blown away by how good they sound. Easily as good as anything I have spent three times the money on ion the past. Then they fell apart. The mic button started randomly activating, calling and hanging up with infuriating speed. I couldn't count on anything more than a few seconds before being cut off or have my music paused or pocket dialed etc. No prob, a quick RMA and all will be right again, right? Wrong. Customer service is very friendly and very ineffectual. It took a couple of weeks and several emails to complete the process. No prob, a new new set will fix my issues, right? Wrong. Its three weeks in and now the new one are dieing. The left channel keeps dropping out. Sound. Silence. Sound. Silence. Annoying.
I really liked these so long as I wasn't making any calls, the fact that they sound so good only makes it worse that I have spent more time dealing with these broken headphones than listening to them.
Great for the priceJuly 27, 2010 Frank Chun Yat Li(Toronto, Canada) Don't expect these phones to be amazing. They probably sound like $75-$80 headphones, which is great considering the product sells for $50.
The clip works as expected, used it for about 4 months and it still clips well. The mic is normal quality. The one thing I don't like is that there's no volume button (like the iPhone headphones).
Normal sound quality, normal build quality, normal mic, great price. Highly recommended.
PS: People looking for amazing sound quality shouldn't be using an iPhone as the source in the first place.
Huge Bang (& Bass) For Your BuckJuly 20, 2010 Vlade Divac Thank goodness for head-fi.org, otherwise I wouldn't have stumbled upon these beauties. I've owned two sets of IEMs so far -- V-Moda's Vibe Duos and SkullCandy's FMJs -- and the NuForce NE-7Ms outclass them in every category. The bass on the NE-7M is incredible: it doesn't sound fake and never falls apart or distorts. The design is very clean, minimal, and blacked out (I like IEMs to be heard, not seen), so this is a bonus. I can't comment on the durability or customer support, because my pair is under a week old. Both my Vibe Duo and FMJ earphones crapped out after about a year, so I'm not counting on the NE-7Ms lasting a lifetime. If I get at least two years, it's $50 very well spent. Fingers crossed...
Ok at bestJuly 16, 2010 PLW It really didn't bother me that these didn't remotely compare to the clarity and quality of my Etymotics. They shouldn't given the cost. These didn't compare well to the Ultimate Ears that I purchased a year ago, however, and the UEs were half the cost of these. I found them to be muddy and the bass overemphasized. I guess if you like heavy bass these would be good, but I'm not impressed for $50. Spend another $50 and buy the Klipsch earphones if you can.
Look no further! Low cost, high quality... Sold.July 9, 2010 J. Osterman(Cleveland, TN United States) I've bought lots of different headphones/earbuds over the years. Most are just mediocre, but I am really impressed with these NuForce NE-7M's. I've even bought a $150 set of Shure's (Thinking I'd put my quest for a great set of ear buds to rest. They were good, but not as impressive as I'd expected. Worse yet, I damaged them with some clippers while mowing my yard and they would cost me 50% or $75 to replace from Shure! Ahg!)
So, these are considerably less than getting a replacement for the Shure's, even at a deep discount. And in my opionion just as good or better. (I can't really compare them side by side since the Shure's dont' work right any more.) PLUS - they work as a headset with Mic - and now people can actually hear me when I talk to them on my cell phone. My quest for a decent blue tooth headset is similar. They all promise the world (I even tried the $139 Jawbone's) but I've not found one Bluetooth headset yet that the little old lady I call once in a while doesn't complain about. But she said I sounded great on these - and they double as my iPod earphones. I don't think you can go wrong. As you can see. I'm convinced. :)
