The case doesn't attach to itself in any way. Instead it is lined with super soft non-scratch felt and it creates a snug fit around my phone. I love the way it looks and the fact that it adds a small lip above the screen so even if I lay my phone face down the screen isn't touching anything. I would buy this case again in a heartbeat. In fact I'm already considering getting some more colors.
